Financial Support
From September 2007 there will be an enhanced finance package for part time students. This enhanced package will apply to both new and existing students.
- Eligible students will be entitled to a fee grant, linked to how intensive the course is, with three different rates of fee grant up to a maximum of £1,150.
- Part-time loans are being replaced by a course grant of up to £250
- Both grants will be accessed via a simple means test carried out by your Local Education Authority and will be available to those on low incomes who are studying at least the equivalent of 50% of a full-time course. The means test will operate using a taper scheme.
Additional Fee Support Scheme
Further assistance is available through the Additional Fee Support Scheme.
