Frequently Asked Questions for Non-Accredited Courses
Q. Is it possible to receive materials by post?
A. With some courses, there is a Reader which is sent by post, but all other studying is solely online and we do not offer these courses with materials to be sent by mail.
Q. What support will I receive for my studies?
A. There is an online Discussion Forum which you can access at your convenience, where you can post and read messages. For contact you may wish to make in a less public environment, in your online material, the tutor will provide details about how he/she can be contacted as well as their e-mail address. Staff in the department will be able to provide technical and administrative back-up as necessary.
Q. Can I pay in instalments?
A. No, due to the reduced cost as these courses are non-credit bearing, the total fee must be paid in advance.
Q. I live outside of the UK. What would the fee be for me to study this course?
A. There is one flat fee applicable to all students, irrespective of country of residence.
Q. If I do not have a UK Bank Account, how can I pay for my course?
A. You can pay using a credit card or an international cheque drawn on a UK Bank and in sterling.
Q. Is the fee discounted for students with disabilities?
A. No, there is only one fee band.
Q. I am on low income/am retired. Is there a discounted rate?
A. No, there is only one fee for all students.
Q. I am a member of staff/spouse or family of staff. Are there are any concessions?
A. We are not able to provide these courses free of charge to staff, but please contact dlteam@exeter.ac.uk for more information about the staff concession.
Q. Although the courses are not accredited, is there any option to complete an essay which would be marked by the tutor?
A. As a general rule, essays are not set for our non credit bearing courses, although this has been made available on a few courses. Please contact us at dlteam@exeter.ac.uk for more details, advising us of your interested course.
