Singing Songs
When children hear their names in songs they are likely to feel appreciated and understand that their presence is valued by other people around them. The video shows a brief section of a Hello song, with mothers beating time on their babies’ knees or other parts of their bodies. Singing the song using the name of the carer as well as the child recognises the connection – and often raises a smile or two.
