Dr Susan Young,
Lecturer in Early Childhood Studies and Music Education, Programme Director Childhood and Youth Programme. University of Exeter.
Senior Research Fellow, Centre for International Research in Music Education, University of Roehampton
Susan Young has taught in a range of different educational settings, including primary, secondary and early years. She was until recently principal lecturer and coordinator of music education at the University of Roehampton before joining the University of Exeter.
Early years music is her area of special interest and research. She has written widely on the topic in practitioner magazines, academic journals and is frequently invited to present to both practitioner and academic audiences, both in the UK and internationally. She is author of Music with the Under Fours, and with Jo Glover, of Music in the Early Years.

Alison Street , Project officer and music practitioner, PEEP, Oxon.
Alison Street is a pre-school music specialist and member of the Oxford Company of Musicians who specialise in making music in community settings. She uses a variety of approaches that build on young children's musicality and relationships with others through music. She devised and compiled the musical materials and activities for the PEEP Project, in the Learning Together series currently used in Sure Start programmes throughout UK to support parents and carers with their children's early learning, especially talking and listening skills. She is currently completing a PhD in maternal singing with infants at Roehampton University and is project officer for Music One2One.

Eleanor Davies, Research Assistant, Exeter University
Eleanor comes from a health psychology background and has worked for the NHS in the past. She is mainly involved with the statistical element of the Music One2One project. Eleanor is currently research assistant at Exeter University?s School of Psychology in a study which is investigating the development of perceptual and cognitive abilities in infancy. Eleanor is delighted to be combining her psychological skills with her musical knowledge for the first time as she has been a keen musician for 25 years.
Helen Brayley , Music Practitioner Exeter Sure Start
Helen Brayley is a qualified and experienced primary teacher. She has worked in a range of early years and community settings delivering music and dance workshops. She is currently running music with children under two and their families in the Exeter area.
Tracey Milne, Music Practitioner, Oxon
Tracey Milne has worked in music education for 8 years, and has been a colleague of Alison?s for two years working on early years projects in Oxford.
Tracey runs private music sessions for families with children under
5 years in Bicester, Oxfordshire and through these and publicly-funded
projects, works with around 200 families a week. She aims to use music to help communication skills and emotional bonding and enjoys watching families learn and grow together through music.
