How to Apply for a PGCE Course
Applications for entry to all our Primary and Secondary PGCE programmes must be made through the Graduate Teacher Training Registry (GTTR), which acts as a clearing house for admissions to PGCE courses. Application forms are available either online through the GTTR website or by contacting them directly.
Applications are available from mid-September and applicants are encouraged to apply as quickly as possible as many courses fill up quickly. The initial application closing date for receipt of Primary applications is 1st December but later applications may be sent if places are still available. An academic reference is required from any Institution of Higher Education that you have attended within the last 5 years.
Good luck in choosing Exeter as your university - it has so much to offer for a little city and is not too overpowering but you can find plenty of shops and hideaways and walkways to de-stress. Most of all, the friends I have made are so important in keeping me going as we're all going through the same process!!" Tania Stait
Entry Requirements
Requirements for entry depend on the particular area you wish to study, so you will find them under specific subjects on the Early Years, Primary Subject Specialisms and Secondary Subject Specialisms webpages.
Deferred Entry
Applicants are not normally able to apply for deferred entry, although in special circumstances we may agree to defer a place after an offer has been made and requests may be considered on an individual basis. Enquiries should be made to the Admissions Office: 01392 263009.
Applicants who will be overseas during the recruitment cycle
If you will be outside the UK during the recruitment cycle for your proposed year of entry, you should make contact with the Admissions Office (01392 263009) to discuss this.
