Research Support Unit (RSU)
The Graduate School of Education is well resourced in terms of research support. Doctoral students are provided with a newly refurbished, modern Research Support Unit containing computers and other equipment, plus a variety of quiet work areas including allocated offices and 'drop in' space. The 'drop in' space is open to all postgraduate students, while allocated offices are only available to those in the research phase of their studies.
This Unit is open to research students, 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. The unit is located in South Cloisters - to gain access you will need to have your university card registered to work with the lock. The School’s IT support can help you do this.
The aim of the Research Support Unit is to provide an area dedicated to postgraduate students engaged in the research process. Further details about the use of the RSU and the allocation of desk space can be found in the Code of Good Practice on the Use of SELL's Research Support Unit and Its Facilities (document below).
RSU computers run a standard set of software packages and provide students with personal storage space on a server that can be accessed from any machine. Technicians located in South Cloisters support students in the use of RSU facilities.
