Masters of Education (MEd)
The one year Masters of Education at the University of Exeter gives you the opportunity to further your studies in a particular specialist area. Within the programme there are three specialist pathways:
- Creative Arts in Education – with Special Fields in Art, Dance, Drama or Music
- Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)
- Special Educational Needs (SEN)
All MEd students also follow a 30 credit Introduction to Education Research module and complete a 30 credit dissertation.
Each pathway includes two core and a selection of elective modules. There is also the opportunity to choose up to 30 credits of study outside of your chosen pathway (subject to timetabling).
Programme Dates for 2010 - 2011: 29th September - 17th June 2011
MEd Creative Arts in Education
Students have wide ranging opportunities to develop their own work in Music, Dance, Drama or Visual Art and to explore current thinking and practice in Creative Arts Education. Issues are considered within a broad educational spectrum, which includes special needs provision and multi-cultural concerns in the UK.
MEd Special Educational Needs (SEN)
The field of Special Educational Needs examines issues of disability, difference and deviance within a framework of inclusion and entitlement. Inclusion, and its allied concepts of integration, segregation and exclusion are addressed within both educational and societal perspectives.
