Mathematics is a part of the core curriculum in secondary schools. In this module you will examine a range of theoretical approaches to understanding and developing your teaching of the subject which will sit alongside the subject knowledge work that you undertake as part of your TSST course. To take this module you will already be a practising teacher who possesses QTS in a subject other than mathematics, and who has a place on a TSST course.

The module will be delivered through a programme of face-to-face sessions and online activities. Supervision of directed and independent work will be through email and moderation of discussion forums.
