In this module you will explore and critically evaluate roles of technology in mathematics education in the internet age. You will critically evaluate existing software, review latest research findings in particular instrumentation theory in technology. You will also investigate how to design mathematical learning environments with technology. You are expected to develop your own ways of understanding how affordances of technology will shape learners’ mathematical knowledge and understanding in order to reflect on your own practice with technology. To take this module, you will usually need at least 3 months experience of teaching mathematics in a school, or similar educational environment, including involvement of development of technology.
