Having led Religious Education in two Secondary schools in Devon and Cornwall, Karen joined the University of Exeter in September 1998 as a Research Assistant, working with Professor Terence Copley on the Biblos, Teaching about Jesus and The Parables research projects. 

 

Since then, Karen has taught and led on the development of various programmes and modules in the School of Education, including the MA Education Online and Secondary PGCE RE programmes. 

 

Karen is currently Deputy Head of Department and Faculty Coorindator of Student Experience, Inclusivity and Wellbeing for HASS, having previously held a number of leadership roles including:

  • Director of Education and Student Experience
  • Director of MA Education Online
  • Director of MA Education
  • Director of Secondary PGCE Programmes
  • Course Leader, Secondary PGCE Religious Education
