About me:
I hold a BA in Anglo-Saxon Civilisation, Literature and Linguistics, and an MA in Applied Linguistics from the University of Mostaganem (Algeria). After that, I joined the University of Exeter in 2017 to pursue my PhD. I first completed my MSc in educational research in 2018 and then my PhD in 2022.
The research project explored research methodology teaching and learning approaches and students' experiences of writing MA education dissertations within the Algerian tertiary education system. A particular focus of this research involves interrogating issues of power, voice and the reproduction of the social world in the classroom using critical pedagogy and critical theory as frameworks.
I am now working as the learning skills international student coordinator at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, and as an associate for the MA Education Consultancy.
During my time in academia, I have been involved in different institutional and national research funded projects, and I co-founded the Decolonial Dialogues.
Research Project:
PhD project: I am interested in exploring Algerian MA students' lived experiences in learning about research methods and writing their MA dissertations in an EFL context using critical theories informed by key lumanaries such as Friere, Giroux, Bourdieu, Biesta or bell hooks.

Graduate School Skills Workshops-Decolonising methodologies workshop
I was selected to attend a highly-selective workshop on decolonising methodologies workshop delivered by Pr. Linda Tuhiwai Smith (University of Waikato, New Zealand), Dr. Michaela Benson (Goldsmiths, UK), and Sara Salem (LSE, UK). This one-day workshop was exclusively for early career researchers and postgraduate researchers working on the area of decolonisation. It explored intersections of imprerialism and research, as well as deconstructing mainstream research practices and theories within delegates' research projects and teaching practices.

I attended a full day workshop organised by GW4 (University of Bath, University of Bristol, University of Cardiff, and University of Exeter) which introduced us to a mixture of theoratical and practical sessions in using interviews creatively. The workshop also covered issues related to ethics, logistics, and other practical challenges as well as how these can be addressed.
