I am an Associate Lecturer at the University of Exeter, where I supervise TESOL students and contribute to the marking and supervision of Master’s dissertations. With a deep commitment to student-centered learning, my academic career has been shaped by a focus on challenging traditional pedagogical approaches and fostering student agency.

I hold an MSc in Education Research (2017-18) and a PhD in Education from school of Education, University of Exeter (2018-2022). My doctoral research explored the experiences of Algerian Master's students in writing education dissertations and learning research methods, using a critical pedagogy framework. The study aimed to challenge conventional knowledge transmission practices by centering students' voices, agency, and active engagement in the research process.

My broader research interests encompass international student experiences, decoloniality, higher education teaching and learning, inclusion, and the development of student-centered approaches. During my time at Exeter, I was a Postgraduate Teaching Associate and I have contributed to a variety of funded research projects, working as a research assistant and a student student intern in initiatives that focus on decolonising the curriculum and advancing inclusive education practices.

My contributions to the academic community at Exeter have been recognised through several awards, including the 2018 Award for Exceptional Contribution to Academic Experience and the 2022 Runner-Up for the Leadership Category in the Best Student Employee Awards. My ongoing work continues to prioritse the empowerment of students as active participants in their learning journeys.

I am also a recognised Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AdvanceHE)
