Wuwei (Vivian) Ye is a PhD candidate at the School of Education (SoE). Her research interests broadly lie in the intersection of sociolinguistics and education, particularly multilingualism, interculturality, identity, and international higher education. Her doctoral research investigates the multilingual identity development of Chinese international students studying abroad in the UK through longitudinal narrative inquiry.
Additionally, Vivian teaches (MLM1052) Beginners Chinese as a Postgraduate Teaching Associate (PTA) in the Language, Culture and Visual Studies (LCVS) department. She is passionate about teaching both English and Mandarin to speakers of other languages.
Apart from her research and teaching, Vivian also works as a PGR Officer in Exeter Student Guild. She endeavours to support postgraduate representation and ensure that the voices of research students are heard. She is committed to creating an inclusive research environment and improving PGR experiences across the university.
