RAE 2008 Results: Top 5 for world-leading research

Research in the Graduate School of Education is ranked as fifth best in the UK. The 2008 Research Assessment Exercise rates 90% of research as of international quality, with 20 per cent being awarded the highest accolade of ‘world leading’ and given 4 stars. Research into global education

Partnerships between the West and developing countries are those where schools in England are being encouraged to link up with partnership schools in Africa, Asia and Latin America as part of a government initiative.The University of Exeter will be examining this initiative by investigating courses for teachers designed to develop their understanding of the potential of global educational partnerships and relations between the two countries concerned.

Science Education under the microscope

A €1 million International Science Education development project is being launched by the University of Exeter’s Graduate School of Education. The project seeks to improve the quality of science education in Europe by collaborating with other countries where science and science careers are perceived by young people as a positive option.

Exeter’s education research boosted by China partnership

Research in the field of education at the University of Exeter has been given an international boost with a new collaboration with a Chinese university. A delegation from East China Normal University visited Exeter to discuss potential links in areas of teacher training and inclusive education.

The University of Exeter has been ranked in the top three universities for the quality of its teacher training. The Graduate School of Education has sustained a top position in The Good Teacher Training Guide 2009, a national league table for teacher training.
