Overview

Dr. Abdelhamid Ahmed obtained his Ph.D. degree in Education (TESOL/Applied Linguistics), Graduate School of Education, University of Exeter, UK. He is also an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at Graduate School of Education, University of Exeter, UK. His areas of research expertise include L2 writing problems, socio-cultural issues, assessing L2 writing, feedback in L2 writing, and reflective journals, metadiscourse, corpus linguistics and metalinguistic understanding of writing.

Dr Abdelhamid Ahmed is the Lead Principal Investigator (LPI) on a joint international project with the Centre for Research in Writing funded by the Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF). The project is entitled: Writing the Future: Metadiscourse and Voice in English and Arabic Argumentative Writings of Qatari University Students.
