Overview

My research interests are broadly located in the Sociology of Education, encompassing issues of social justice; gender, sexuality, domestic and sexual violence and feminist theory. This crosses interdisciplinary boundaries to children and young people’s mental health, wellbeing and positive psychology, with related themes that include leadership, mentoring and coaching.

I have a range of methodological interests (including; ethnography, thematic and discourse analysis, participatory research with children and young people, interviews, sensitive research topics and ethics of care).

My practice background is in Further Education, where I taught across curricula before moving into facilitation, training, and leadership and management roles in the Charity Sector.
