The School of Education and the world
With a large community of international staff and students from across the world, the School of Education is one of the most diverse and welcoming learning communities in the UK. It is also the case that all of our research has been judged internationally excellent in the latest research excellence framework exercise.
In the School of Education, we are always exploring new ways to connect with the world and aim for global activities to permeate everything that we do in the department.
Our wide range of global activities, include:
- Engagement with educational research and practice on a global scale. This is achieved through building close relations with research-intensive institutions across the world. These include, for example, universities in Canada, Saudi Arabia, Japan and China, and educational institutions in the United Arab Emirates.
- Working with a high number of international students from across the world and offering a portfolio of programmes with international reach and access to prestigious scholarships (including the Hornby scholarships for prospective students from low- and middle-income countries).
- Fostering a global community of research partners, visiting scholars and alumni students across the globe.
