Gabriela is an Associate Professor in Language Education. She has contributed to the field of multilingualism in education by developing theoretical publications on the multilingual turn in education, multilingual socialisation in education and the link between languages and social cohesion, based on literature reviews and documentary analyses. Her empirical research comprises evaluations of programmes in primary, tertiary and vocational education in the UK, Switzerland and Germany. She is currently developing new research avenues in the field of multilingualism in vocational education and training (VET).

  • Researcher development (masters and doctoral programmes)
  • Co-ordination of the Language and Education Network.
  • Leadership and tutoring of MEd modules
